ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

The Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE) is an integral part of the University, providing leadership and support to internationalize the campus and the curricula.

International students from over 85 countries pursue their undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Symbiosis. Students and faculty are provided with opportunities to pursue their international academic interests to the fullest, be it through academic exchanges, or exposure to international conferences, seminars, workshops, and other resources.

Internationalization at Symbiosis works on multiple tracks, for which the Symbiosis Centre for International Education has three departments:

Promotions:

Understanding the importance of ensuring a fulfilling experience, both academic and social, this department focuses on assisting foreign students to adapt to their new home. The students are encouraged to contact this department when faced with problems – academic, administrative, and even issues that are not directly related to the University, such as dealing with formalities at the Foreigners’ Registration Office (FRO), etc
This department organizes an Orientation program for all international students who have joined Symbiosis International University. The aim of the Orientation program was to acquaint students with the Symbiosis family, rules and regulations of the University, importance of legal procedures, medical facilities available, events and other miscellaneous matters of importance and interest for international students during their stay in India. This program provides for a platform for the International Students to get out of their comfort zone by participating in team building games and thereby provides an opportunity for the students get to know each other better.
Through this department, SCIE participates in various exhibitions held abroad. To name a few, it has participated in exhibitions held at Sri Lanka, Oman, Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi.
Annually SCIE participates in GETEX, an exhibition organised by the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research in the month of April in Dubai, UAE.
This department also maintains a regular contact with the Embassies of various countries in order to inform them about the various initiatives undertaken by Symbiosis International University.
