Symbiosis International University started one more campus outside Pune at Hyderabad


Symbiosis – a brand known internationally for its excellence in innovation and research in the field of education added yet another feather to its hat. After Pune, Noida, Bengaluru recently it introduced it’s another prestigious campus in Mamidipalli at Hyderabad housing Symbiosis Law School (SLS) & Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM). 

Adv. Ram Jethmalani, Sr.Advocate Supreme Court of India, Professor Emeritus, SIU, Member of Parliament (RajyaSabha), visited the new campus on Friday the 2nd Jan 2015.

Programme started with the lighting of lamp by the dignitaries on the dais including Adv. Ram Jethmalani, Dr. ShashikalaGurpur, Fulbright scholar, Director, Symbiosis Law School, Pune and Dean, Faculty of Law, Symbiosis International University and Dr. Sukhvinder Singh Dari, Dy. Director, Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad.

In her welcome address, Dr.Gurpur introduced Adv. Ram Jethmalani to the audience. Mentioning him as a role model to all the students who aspire to become lawyers of tomorrow, she described him as the longest living legend of the Indian Legal System and as a friend, philosopher and guide to all the Symbiosis Law Schools.

Sharing anecdotes from his early days in the profession, Adv. Ram Jethmalani told students that he was a qualified lawyer at the age of 17 with the law degree from Bombay University. He repeatedly mentioned his love towards the teaching profession. He also said that he loves the company of the young people as it makes him feel young. He emphasised that the taboos regarding the profession are all false and it is the duty of the younger generation to eradicate them. He advised the students to take up the profession for honour, serving the society and not for the sole purpose of earning money. He urged the SIBM students to be the leaders serving the nation.

He also stated that Symbiosis International University is doing a good job producing and promoting better and responsible citizens and leaders. He summed up saying that the country is in need of honest and responsible statesmen, leaders and lawyers. Lastly, he remarked, “demo1cracy without education is hypocrisy without limitation”. 

The two infants, SLS and SIBM, jointly hosted their Common Commencement Programme 2014, on 22nd December, 2014 at the Assembly Hall, Symbiosis Hyderabad Campus.

Dr. ShashikalaGurpur, Fulbright scholar, Director, Symbiosis Law School, Pune and Dean, Faculty of Law, Symbiosis International University, Dr. Raman, Director, SIBM Pune, Dr. Nerkar, Registrar, SIU, Dr. R. K. Jain, Director, SIBM Hyderabad and Dr. Sukhvinder Singh Dari, Dy. Director, Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad, graced the occasion.

Welcoming the first batch of SLS and SIBM, Dr.Gurpur, introduced themas the pioneers and history makers. The combination of Law and Management may lead to creation of best lawyers & corporate managers, she said. She apprised the students & parents of the legal status and the validity of various courses and assured them entire audience that Symbiosis has the authority of courts to start programmes. She emphasized the need of disciplined life during five years of learning, adherence to the code of conduct and brain mapping.

Dr. Raman shared the success mantra with the budding lawyers and managers. Introducing Symbiosis International University to the students, hetold them that they all are very lucky to be part of a brand that has international recognition. 

Dr. Jain introduced different programmes and developmental plans for the students of SIBM Hyderabad. He emphasized upon the importance of planning in life. He also explained the scheme of internship & placement for Management students.

At the end, Dr.Sukhvinder Singh Dari, Dy. Director, Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad,proposed the vote of thanks. He extended his special thanks to Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Chancellor, SIU &Dr.VidyaYerwadekar, Principal Director, Symbiosis.
