Training on Legal Skills and Advocacy


Symbiosis Law School in Pune hosted a legal skill and advocacy training programme for B.A LL.B, B.B.A LL.B, LL.B and LL.M students. Prof. Rebecca Todd served as a Scholar in Residence at Symbiosis Law School, Pune, from September 14th to October 1st, 2018. The legal skills and advocacy workshop was a 5-day training programme held from September 17th to September 21st, 2018, at the Multipurpose Hall on the first level and Room No.212 on the second floor of Symbiosis Law School, Pune.

Rebecca Todd teaches and handles legal briefs as a University Counsel at Antioch University in New Hampshire, United States. She is also the University's Director of Foreign and Field Studies. From December 2007 to June 2008, she was also a Fulbright Visiting Lecturer Fellow.

The training programme was organised to teach students mooting skills and identify legal concerns. The curriculum offered instruction on writing a memorial, finding statutes, and analysing case law. In addition, the programme included training on how to write a memorial, how to search for laws and analyse case laws. 385 students in total attended the course. Each student received hands-on instruction through simulation exercises, writing, and oral presentations.
