Dr. Shashikant Hajare, has been associated with Symbiosis Law School, Pune since March 2003. During his teaching career, he has held various positions like Vice Principal & Acting Principal of Symbiosis Law School, Pune, and Acting Dean & Member of Board of Management of Symbiosis International University. He was awarded Ph. D (Faculty of Law) by Symbiosis International University in November 2010. He completed his Masters Degree in Law (LL. M) from the University of Pune in 2001 with First Rank. He passed UGC-NET test for Lectureship with JRF in the year 2002.
His areas of interest include Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Criminal Law and Jurisprudence. He has taught various subjects to both, undergraduate & postgraduate students, including Constitutional Law, Comparative Public Law, Administrative Law, Legal Writing, Criminology, Law of Contracts, Jurisprudence and National Security, Public Order & Rule of Law. Currently, he is a Research Guide for Ph. D programmes of Symbiosis International University and 6 students are pursuing their doctoral studies under his guidance. He has also guided many LL. M students for dissertation theses. He has published many articles in the national & international journals. Dr. Hajare has also published a book on “The Law of Parliamentary Privileges in India: Problems and Prospects” published by Himalaya Publishing House in November, 2012 (ISBN: 978-93-5097-128-4).
Dr. Shashikant Hajare has also presented papers & conducted lectures in Universities abroad. He Presented paper in 11thASLI (Asian Law Institute) Conference held at University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 29-30 May, 2014 on “Tradition-Modernity Polarities and Human Rights of Women: Tracking Judicial responses in India”. (Co-author: Dr. Shashikala Gurpur). It was published in American International Journal of Research in Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (AIJRHASS), ISSN (Print): 2328-3734, ISSN (Online): 2328-3696, ISSN (CD-ROM): 2328-3688, Issue 8, September-November, 2014. He visited Liebniz University, Hannover, Germany in November 2011 and delivered lecture on “Comparative Analysis of Constitutional Law in India and Germany”. He also visited Orebro University in Sweden in April 2006 under the Faculty Exchange Programme and delivered lectures on Indian Constitutional Law.
