Research Wing
From the inception of the HRC it had been our constant endeavor to function not merely as any other socially responsible student human rights organization but being part of a law college, to encourage novel, radical principles on human rights issues. In furtherance of this objective the HRC has been actively pursuing a course of fieldwork supplemented by a strong super structure of research work and study. We at HRC have a strong belief in doing groundwork in an extremely sensitized atmosphere so as to be able to address human rights issues in their correct and requisite perspectives. The HRC has from the start always been structured and has performed on a two tier basis and hence have been actively pursuant of the research aspects of our projects.
Our extensive research has effectuated in a number of efforts in and out of college, the biggest of them being the Child Rights Report ‘Bal Adina Sanrakshan – From Perception to Reality ‘. As a research based organization our members have also written various articles and case reports on human rights issues. We have presented working reports and case papers on human rights issues in the various seminars held at college, organized by the HRC.
The commitment to research extends further to the Symbiosis Society’s Law College Human Rights Journal which is an annual feature where the country’s renowned jurists are invited to send in articles on various human rights issues. The Journal is a coordinated effort between members of the HRC, senior students of the college and faculty to bring out the qualitative compilation of socially relevant commentaries.
