Exchange Programme 2011-12

Symbiosis Law School, Pune has undertaken the following Faculty & Student Exchange Programmes – Erasmus Mundus Consortium (A Consortium of Universities of European Union, Indian and South-East Asian Universities) and DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) during the Academic Year 2011-12.

The following are the details of Exchange Programmes undertaken by Symbiosis Law School, Pune:

Erasmus Mundus:

• Dr. Bindu Ronald, Asso. Professor, SLS, Pune visited Leibniz University of Hannover Germany  as Erasmus Mundus Scholar under the Erasmus Mundus Research Grant from mid-April – mid-July 2011 for three months.
  

DAAD:

• Prof. Rupal Rautdesai, Assistant Professor, SLS, Pune visited Leibniz, University of Hannover, Germany in May 2011 under the DAAD grant.
  
• Prof. Bernd Oppermann from Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany visited SLS under the DAAD exchange programme from 6th – 10th December 2011. During his visit, he delivered lectures to undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. students.
  
• Prof. Carsten Momsen from Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany visited SLS, Pune from 20th February – 26th February 2012 under the DAAD grant. During his visit, he delivered guest lectures and conducted faculty seminar.
  
• Prof. Sujata Arya, Assistant Professor, SLS, Pune will be visiting Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany in May 2012 under the DAAD grant.
  

ICCR Rotating Chair Professor Fellowship :-

?    Prof. Swapnil Bangali has been selected for the ICCR Rotating Chair Professor Fellowship for the year 2012. He will be visiting Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany for 6 months.

Details of International Visitors (2011-12):-

• Prof. Jenny Hamilton, Director, Undergraduate Laws Programme, University of London International Programmes visited SLS, Pune on 10th November 2011 to discuss possible collaboration between SLS, Pune and University of London.

• Mr. Fred Rooney, Director, Community Legal Resource Network, CUNY School of Law, USA & Justice Fern A. Fisher, Deputy Administrative Judge, New York Courts visited SLS, Pune from 24th – 28th November 2011. An Interaction Session was also organized on 26th November 2011.
  

• Prof. Till Zech from Ostfalia University visited SLS, Pune to discuss about the collaboration and exchange programmes with SLS, Pune & SIU.
  

• Prof. Bernd Oppermann from Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany visited SLS under the DAAD exchange programme from 6th – 10th December 2011. During his visit, he delivered lectures to undergraduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. students.
  

• Prof. Sushmita Purohit from Bremen University, Germany visited SLS, Pune and delivered a lecture on Environmental Law to III Year BA/BBA LL.B. students on 9th December 2011.
  

• Dr. Gavin Byrne from Birmingham Law School, University of Birmingham, UK visited SLS, Pune on 12th May 2011. A Faculty Seminar was organized where Dr. Byrne delivered a lecture on ‘Jurisprudence’.
  

• Mr. P. J. Tabit, Researcher from George Washington University, Washington DC, USA visited SLS, Pune on 25th July 2011 and conducted a Faculty Development Programme on ‘Wikipedia India Education Programme’ at SLS Conference Room.
  

• Ms. Bethany Hanson from UMKC Law School, Kansas City, USA, visited SLS, Pune from 1st August – 15th September 2011. During her visit, she took lectures, conducted workshops and training on Moots for the students of SLS, Pune. She also conducted a Faculty Seminar on ‘Juvenile Justice System in USA’.
  

• Her Excellency, Mrs. Orna Sagiv, Consul General of Israel, Consulate of Israel in Mumbai, visited SLS, Pune on 15th December 2011 and interacted with the students and members of the faculty.
  

• Prof. Susan L. Karamanian, Associate Dean, George Washington University Law School, USA visited SLS, Pune on 6th January 2012 and interacted with the student and faculty.
  

• Prof. Mary E. Footer from Nottingham Law School, University of Nottingham, UK visited SLS, Pune on 16th January 2012 and interacted with the faculty members. She also delivered a Guest lecture on ‘International Economic Law’ to the students of IV Year and V Year BA/BBA LL.B.
  

• Ms. Ruth Santiago, Attorney from Puerto Rico visited SLS, Pune from 12th – 29th January 2012 and delivered guest lectures and conducted faculty seminar.
  

• Prof. John O’Dowd from UCD School of Law, Dublin, Ireland visited SLS, Pune and delivered a Guest Lecture to IV Year Comparative Law students
  

• Prof. Carsten Momsen from Leibniz University of Hannover, Germany visited SLS, Pune from 20th February – 26th February 2012 under the DAAD grant. During his visit, he delivered guest lectures and conducted faculty seminar.
  

• Delegation from St. Mary’s University, USA including the Dean of St. Mary’s Law School, Prof. Charles E. Cantu visited SLS, Pune on 8th February 2012 and interacted with students and faculty members.
  

• Delegates from Washburn University, USA along with Mr. Baily Zhang, Director of International Programs, visited SLS, Pune on 22nd March 2012 and interacted with the Director and SCIE representatives.
