The Human Rights Cell (HRC) is the first of its kind in Indian law colleges. HRC is a students’ organization with a strength of 80 students. It targets the creation of awareness on rights of the individual. The Human Rights Cell was established in Symbiosis Society’s Law College on 27th January on 2002, by Hon’ble Justice Arijit Pasayat and Dr. Kiran Bedi.

“To promote fundamental human rights by upholding the constitutional mandate, to become a part of transparency, democracy and the rule of law, for establishing equilibrium in the society, by which everybody will be given his or her due.”

HRC looks forward to a national network with Non Governmental Organizations and encourages other colleges to have a similar set up. It is our endeavor that the student community comes together to promote, what we like to call as
Students for Human Rights.
